When he was born, birth, Stallone's famous smile was the result of an accident with a forceps. This accident caused Stallone to lose a nerve, which left his speechless. Stallone had a difficult childhood. He and Frank who was his brother, both suffered as children by the conflicting relationships between their parents, which eventually resulted in divorce. Stallone was a part of his childhood being in the foster home. In the year Stallone was five years young, his dad moved the family to the Washington, D.C. area which is where he began his own beauty parlor chain. Stallone resided in Maryland for years, staying with his father following his divorce in 1957. Stallone struggled academically and emotionally and was expelled from several schools.
